Setup packages
The two components of the solution ship as two separate packages. They are versioned independently and can be updated separately.
1. NCS-AddOn (SAP Business One)
The add-on ships as an add-on package for SAP Business One:
| File | Purpose |
|---|---|
NCS-AddOn.<version>.zip | The add-on package containing all modules |
ActualRelease_X64.ard | Registration file (ARD) used by SAP Business One to register the add-on |
Version scheme: NCS-AddOn.<year/quarter>.<series>.<number> – for example NCS-AddOn.2603.001.101.zip.
Installation is done through the SAP Business One add-on administration (Administration → Add-Ons → Add-On Administration). Step-by-step instructions are in Install NCS-AddOn.
x64
The add-on ships as a 64-bit build only and requires a 64-bit SAP Business One client.

2. NCS-Webservice (Windows service)
The service ships as a stand-alone installer:
| File | Purpose |
|---|---|
NCS-Webservice-Setup-<version>.exe | Installs or updates the Windows service including all required files |
Version scheme: NCS-Webservice-Setup-<year/quarter>.<series>.<number>.exe – for example NCS-Webservice-Setup-2603.0.1.60.exe.
The setup is a guided installation wizard. Among other things it handles:
- installing the service and registering it with the Windows service manager
- asking for port and encryption (SSL) for the SOAP and REST interface
- creating the required firewall rules
- creating the configuration files in the data directory
- optionally: the service account the service runs under
Step-by-step instructions are in Install NCS-Webservice.

Updating
Both packages can be installed over an existing installation:
- NCS-AddOn: register the new version in the add-on administration; the workstations update themselves on next start.
- NCS-Webservice: simply run the new setup. Existing settings are kept; port and SSL setting are pre-filled from the current configuration.
Older setups are retained
Delivery files are never overwritten. Every version gets its own file with the version number in its name, so an earlier state can always be reinstalled.
Which versions belong together?
Add-on and web service are released as a matched pair. In production, use the builds from the same delivery wherever possible. Current versions and their changes are listed in the release notes.
